Boston Shines 2013 Community Planting Event 4/27 9am-2pm along Foundry Street
Parking restrictions for street cleaning will be in place from Greenbaum St. to the W 4th St Bridge overpass Saturday.
Come out and help out for our annual Spring Clean up and planting event. This is a great opportunity to meet your neighbors and reconnect with old friends while improving our community. This years focus will be a clean out of all gardens with a main focus of planting 42 shrubs, 34 rose bushes, and vines and lots of mulching in our newest accessible garden bed along the Foundry Street Train Yard. We have planted many tree's, shrubs, and perennial flowers back there over the past five years. This year the fencing was replaced and through our advocacy working with the MBTA, and with our elected officials behind us, they have moved the fence behind our trees opening up a 360 foot linear garden bed. Spring is the time to clean this new garden bed up, and plant vines and shrubs to build a living green wall back there while the temps are still cool for new plantings.
As ever the cutting edge group we are also introducing "Reverse Graffiti" to South Boston ( Google it! )with some fun organic designs for the sidewalks along our newest garden 'The Foundry Street Botanical Gardens"
Bring out your "Boston Strong" energy and inflict a permanent positive change right here in YOUR COMMUNITY !
